The Arvor 250AS is without a doubt one of the most popular angling craft ever built. There are many reasons for this. For one, it looks the part. The high, teak topped gunwales, the large diameter stainless steel guard rails give a feeling of security and a belief that this boat will cope with whatever Mother Nature throws at us.
These feelings are not misplaced. The cockpit is huge and has numerous water tight hatches. The addition of the bathing platform aids the waterline length and reduces slamming. The wheelhouse is offset to port allowing safe passage on the Starboard side forward when anchoring or mooring.
The engine is the extremely reliable and powerful Cummins/Mercruiser 4.2L diesel. This 230hp unit will run all day at 3200rpm giving a cruising speed between 15-18 Knots. The beauty of the Cummins is that she is equally happy at low revs.
"Bamba" is a good example of the "Deluxe" version which gives useful extras like the bow thruster, live bait well, electric windlass, fold down cockpit benches and pull out bimini top.
Boat was lifted and anti fouled, hull polished and anodes replaced in September 2019.
Annual safety check by local harbour authority and RNLI.
Wheel house entered from cockpit by lockable sliding door
Helm position to starboard with two seats that can be raised or lowered with ease
Wraparound windscreen offers great visibility
Opening roof hatches for ventilation.
Large padded bench on port side. Beneath this is a stainless steel sink unit with built in hob.
Opposite galley is heads compartment with sea toilet and rod holder rack.
Seating area in bow with central table.
This area will convert to a large double berth.
This is a well equipped craft and has a level of equipment that is both useful and will keep you safe.
